We are delighted to announce that we have been invited to present at the Virtual International Double Reed Society Symposium this summer. We join over 80 double reed performers from around the world highlighting repertoire that utilizes oboe and/or bassoon.
Our performance will be on Wednesday, July 28th at 1pm EST and is free to anyone who would like to attend. Registration is required to gain access. To learn more about the symposium and register, please go to the IDRS conference page.
July 26 - 31, 2021
In 2020, we celebrated the 200th anniversary of Susan B. Anthony’s birth and the 100th year since the passing of the 19th Amendment supporting women’s right to vote by performing an all-women composer recital. We collaborated with female artists to create new interdisciplinary bassoon and harp repertoire that incorporated women-related figures, characters, topics, or ideology, performing a live-streamed/live concert of Women Are… in July of 2020.
But wait, there's more!
We were so inspired by the collaboration, support, and feedback from the first concert, we decided to expand the project! This past year we continued to explore existing repertoire by female composers and commissioned three additional pieces to be premiered during the summer of 2021.
So please join us for Part Two of Women Are… Concert series!
